I have the catlouge by SPW and it has a couple of HID products. They have some fog lights by Raybrig, looks like it would fit in the SVT front end. They also have HID coversion kits for the 9006 series, those are made by Nokya. Most of this stuff looks like its imported from Japan, I'm thinking of trying a set. There isn't any prices, nor do they have a wabpage. Anyone heared of these brands?

This place has a kit from Bellof for 9006 series. Only problem is the price. They also have driving/fog lights from PIAA. Again, problem is price and the fact that they are square.

all i can tell you is... HID has a "transformer" box to generate power to the lights... dunno extactly whats the power but i will check it tomorrow... also the modification adding the box, they add a much thicker harness... i was thinking in goind to a junk yard and see if they had already a lincoln or lexus head lights bulbs and boxes hanging hehe

The December 2000 issue of 'Bimmer' mag has an article about using ~$400 of Mark VIII parts to convert a BMW to HID. It looked like the same thing could probably be done for a Contour. They have a lower current drain than stock headlights, but they are definitely much higher voltage (thus the Xformer).

Ballast regulates voltage and a transformer merely increases or decreases voltage. A ballast will send a short high voltage pulse (600-50k volts, depending on application) to strike an arc and regulate the voltage to keep the arc going. (I'm a light freak! )
