just did, and found this

as for the Saturn/Pontiac, i like the looks of those, but not sure i want a GM car. Mazda is dangerously close to Ford, but i have only heard good things about the Miata and it's a proven design. the GM stuff has no track record to show for it.

my next option would be a used Z3 or wait until the end of the summer and get a used Gen 1 Miata and mod it.

Baco!

do a search in my area, use my zip code of 95117 and give the dealers a call. They were advertising $8K off MSRP. While nothing is advertised currently, they may still have some bargains.

If your interested give the Chryselr dealer a call as well, Crossfires are moving insanely slow and their current discount is over $5K

Now is a bad time to be buying a convertable.

It is springtime and everybody wants the topdown now.

Your best bet would be to find an 04 that a dealer still has sitting on the lot and try to work a deal on it.

I see you are posting on miata.net about it and that is mos likely your best bet on getting good info about it.

OK. my dealer said the rebates were for 2004 models. the 6 speed i drove on saturday was an 04. no rebates on 2005 but they want to move the cars. i get $750 customer cash and $500 student discount.

and apparently they are making deals in CA because they have more inventory there. let's see if i can get one side against the other...

Baco, the number for my dealer (Freeman Mazda) is (972)438-2121.

Wayne Sharp handles the internet sales and he's the one with that maintains the site that listed it for about $19K just a few weeks ago. I personally find him to not be particularly personable, and Doyce Jouett is my salesman, I don't know if he'd know much about the going deals on the MS Miatas though.

The DFW area is great for Mazda deals, even if you just want to pit one dealer against another across the country. There are 8 dealerships here within less than 40 miles and the competition is extremely high.

I was at my dealer the other day - they have three burning holes in their pockets - two titanium and the red one -

one of the Ti ones had marker on the windsheld 7000 off . . . so I dont doubt it could be under 20K if you tried at all hard

I'm driving one today to check it out. I'll let you know how it goes.

Supposed to get a job offer finalized today too, which would signal a green flag for the Miata. Wish me luck!

I bought my 2004 MSM from Hiley Mazda in Hurst (TX ) for 18K on New Years Day. They were offering 6K in rebates plus my X plan pricing... then we haggled on payments... it came out to right around 18K when all was said and done.

I got the Velocity red w/leather and cloth top ( 400 mi ). I LOVE it! I bought my previous miata from Freeman as well as our Expedition. They are great! Good luck!

I agree w/sigma, Wayne is not my favorite.. We pruchased both of our cars from Doyle
