For those of you that care (not you phlop):
If "that sensor" is the IAT, then that sensor can't be simply "gotten out of the way" or "bunched up with some vacuum hoses" it needs to be in the direct path of air. The is crucial to engine management, and something that you should not put off..

1.Get a heatshield...
2. make sure you reset the pcm (you did, didn't you?)
3. enjoy the newfound power and sound.
