Okay I have to think alot, but not as much as the worst person here. I've had the following done:
1. Wheel bearing (drivers side)
2. Rotors(this is bad, check your hand brake) this will bite you in the ass for rotors, especially back ones.
3. Recalls all except the front spring ones. Getting the wiring harness done hopefully this week. This is a beater from now on. 161000 km.
4. Basic maintainance. Fixed the clock light easily.
5. Water pump hasn't been destroyed yet, in my life with this car. Had it from 49000 km to 161000 km. Thank god. 60 km per day. bought in 99 to present april 19/02.

All in all good power until I get home the car is dead. Not sure if it is the cat or cats that are heated so much to reduce power, maybe a cluck thing.
97 contour v6 LX - wouldn't buy another, but its hard to find the price that this was for the power.

Please reply if lack of power after 30 km, highway for 15 and stop and go for the rest.
Later
Fred

just under 50k

Changed rear end links to quell banging/knocking at ~43k

Water pump (precautionary) at 45k

Plugs at ~30k to fix small hesitation/stutter I was feeling. Seemed to fix it.

Regular oil changes, anywhere between 3.5k - 6k

I still need to fix a leaky trunk, sticking handbrake and notchy shifting. I have parts/fixes/ideas for fixes for all 3. Time & motivation are on back order.

Regards...

Replaced first cat @ 77K under warranty. Other than that, nothing, other than oil changes filters, belts, etc...the stock clutch hasnt even given out yet...go figure, one of the best cars I've owned.

I replaced the driver side seat. It rocked and made to much noise. That's it as for normal problems

Everything else I ***** about on this board were caused by me moding my car...wheels, exhaust, intake..not fitting right. You get the idead

I wonder what day the car was finished(friday, wed., Monday). My car is OK so far. I expect more problems though. This car is problematic.
I wanted to get ride of it, but the loss was to high. The market know about our vehicles, and its best to get the value of the parts on this vehicle. I mean it stupid to sell this vehicle, 2000 canadian loss automatically. Anyway keep the research going, because this site is the best.
I know exactly what is going to go wrong next. If I win the lotto I will place a huge amount here.
The waterpump is scaring me. I had it from 49000 km to 161000 km , and it was alot of traveling between Ottawa, and Montreal. I have slacked off since the girlfriend is now living with me. Please give me advice about changing this soon, or symptoms of what to look at. I inspect this pully every night, I wish but I do it every month.
And I watch the oil temp.
Thanks
Fred

Spooky post! I just bought my tour at 43k 2 months ago, just hit 50k- thought it would be better than the Focus I was offered at the dealership. So far no problems- Dash was replaced before I got the car- showed up on the Oasis. Haven't found any recalls that I need to check into- anyone know anything I don't. Plan on doing some preventive stuff like water pump, motor mounts, etc.
