What year is your contour?

95 only has certain 95 clusters that will work with it
96-97 will work with later 95 clusters, along with 96 and 97, 98+ is different and works with 98+ only

Ok, then it will work, But I do think the Post98 Contour you have to run a tach wire from the PCM to Speedometer Cluster, Because I didnt have to run any wires from my 95, and I did hear talk of it needing to be done, I might be wrong. But they oughta work

I just put one in my '99 4 banger 'Tour a few weeks ago. All I had to do was add a wire to the back of the tach to the tach signal wire on the ECU harness. Your '98 might have the wires already installed. I'd say go for it since you can get help from this board for the install if you need it. Not difficult.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

I have a 98 contour mtx, and I had the same idea.

I put a 98 cluster with a tach in my car and the speedo reads over 2x as fast as it should.

I'm not sure why, maybe cuz it came out of an auto and the VSS is different?
