Question: Is the way the atx shifts determined somehow by the PCM?
A little background info:
I bought my '96 Mystique ATX Zetec about a month ago. It had a bad VSS, so I basicly drove it home (several miles
) in second gear. The next day I had the VSS replaced and a drain and fill of the trany fluid. Today I would like to drain and fill it again (myself, since the shop wants $65 for something I can do for $15
) because when it was previously filled it had a burnt odor to it. The fresher the fluid, the better, I say! So I was wondering if clearing the computer's memory will make it relearn shift points or something like that.
