I use 6 full quarts when I change it and I'm running a K&N open element air filter, its been cleaned twice in 80 thousand miles.

How about that...
Yet another person using a K&N air filter that is getting superb air filtration results...
{that's for those that know it's for them }
That's also why I asked because I really already knew.

What Roger meant, I believe, is that according to Blackstone instructions "Makeup Oil" stands for the oil you added to make up for the losses between the changes.

Well you guys always talk about the best this or the best that. That test proves K&N isn't "the best" at filtering out dirt. I know your oil analysis says the oil is OK but countless others have had different results. Go search through bobistheoilguy you'll find the info there.
