Has somebody already brought up the truth in this thread yet about the problem with high fuel prices? There is no shortage of oil, but there IS a shortage of refineries. Oil refineries are not being built, but demand continues to shoot up. Why are they not being built? Environmentalists and the astronomically high liability and pollution controls that must be equipped on all refineries are a big cause. Refineries are closing or forced to cut back production more than new ones are being put online to meet stringent demands.

What happens when demand increases but supply flat levels or even drops? You have a long standing issue here that dates way back before Bush or even Clinton for some matters even took office. Blame the eco-nazis if you must blame somebody, but just live with the high prices. This is what we wanted for a "clean" Earth. If you want change, don't whine about the high cost of oil, urge more refineries to be built. Crude Oil is not what you get out of that gas pump.
