and please, you can see everything Nevada has to offer in about three days. and they have VEGAS! what do states like Iowa and Nebraska have to show people?

you just TRY to see Texas in two weeks..
Hell.. start in Austin.. drive ANY DIRECTION YOU WANT for 5 hours... Where will you be?

TEXAS..

try making it across the state.. any direction you wanna take.. N-S, E-W, whatever.. in one day..

SOOO many cities, so much diversity from each city, and nothing like the last one you were in.. like I said.. we can offer the same things that CA can offer.. Mountains, lakes, rivers, hills, small town hospitality, bustling metropolis, caverns, tourism, and agriculture... isn't that everything on that "why CA" is great list?

I thimk Austin is great, just too flat for my taste. I like hills. But Sixth St. was all kinds of fun.

I'll keep it in mind next time I'm there. But I never left Austin last 2 times.

N to S From Mexico to Oregon Border California is roughly 750 miles long. East to West it's about a 3.5hr from the Coast to Nevada.

Hills in Texas Crossing to Nevada you drive over a 7000 ft pass, the Mountains are vastly taller than that and I forgot to mention the Olympic caliber skiing that is on the mountains.

And why I don't like Texas, it't hot & humid in the Summer, completely miserable. Your winters are pretty bad too, not a fan of Thunderstorms in the N. Texas area or the Hurricanes in the Coastal areas, I think it snowed in Dallas this year too. So miserable Summers and Winters? Why I hated the midwest when I lived there.

Average winter high is 60, Average Summer high is around 78.
We rarely drop below 32, maybe at 6am a few times a year. and rarely hit 90 or above in the summers.

Lets talk crime rate. Dallas, Houston and San Antonio are all in the top 4 for worst crime in large cities. San Jose at over 900,000 population is the safest big city in the nation.....

I have Laguna Seca & Sonoma raceway less than 1hr's drive away, wine country to the South in Santa Barabar and to the North in Napa/Sonoma.

Yosemite is a 1.5hr drive East.

I've been to Alabama, Iowa, Michigan, Illinois, Massachusetts, Georgia, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, & Colorado . Only place I liked as much and felt as homey to me was Boston and Chicago in the Fall/Spring.

I liked Dallas, I really did, but damn that weather in the Summer, you all were friendly though and that cost of living is super nice.

I think if the price was right, everyone of you would move to Cali. Aside from the asinine cost of housing, this place is more than alright.

Stupidity perhaps?

Seriously, you work at Wal-mart. And not even as a manager, you're a registermonkey. Of all the people to be slinging [censored] you're one of the LAST people that should.

Actually I'm not a registermonkey but that's ok, you can wallow in your own ignorance.

Would you suggest we all go live in the Land of Dirt with you? I know, we could all quit or jobs, move in with you and work at WalMart too! We could all be your clones! and bow down to you and think just like you! That is what you want right?

Some people choose to live on their own, make their own living, and live in Ca. Some choose to do other things. It is pathetic to bash people that have different opinions as you. You like your life and where you live, I like mine, and am totally content living in Ca. If you have a problem with me living in California, I suggest you take tiome and deeply examine your life as something must be severly lacking for you to be so consumed by any of our lifestyles.

Yep, stupidity in your case.

If I could live in CA and afford the kind of house I own now, I'd move back. Oh, I'd need my own private roads so I could avoid the traffic.

I lived in SoCal for 3+ years. I love San Diego, but it's too pricey for me. Getting into traffic jams on a Sunday blew my mind, too.

That said, I've lived in OK, CA, AZ, MS, KY and Japan. CA definitely has its perks, but I'm just as happy here in Phoenix. Yes, I know, the summers can be crushing but you really do get used to it. Also, we are now on that sharp equity climb that CA has experienced for years. That'll be real nice here in about 3 or 4 more years

I'm from small town OK. I grew up in that environment and miss it more than even I can believe. My wife would never move there, though. When I say small town, I mean small town: I grew up in a town of 2,500 and also lived in a town of 500 for a short while.

So trying to argue that state X is greater than state Y doesn't really work. Everyone prefers their own thing. CA or TX may be just right for you but not necessarily for me.
