I stopped paying attention to the latest and greatest equipment when I got my bike a few years ago, so I'm not up on the new stuff. But personally if I was just looking for a basic transportation/occasional trailer ride bike I'd buy a used one. There are plenty of rich people out there who buy a high-end bike then quickly get bored of the sport and sell their stuff.
