Actually, I did. But I'm English, and therefore prone to using strange language, often misunderstood by my colonial brethrin!!  "Touch wood" in 'English' English means the same thing as "knock on wood". The expression "Wood" itself, the North American connotation, isn't used often in the same way in English English. My Bad!!
