My buddy has a couple of Infinity 12in subs, they say 1220 watts on them, a box, and a poineer 760 watt amp. He wants 250 for it all. Assuming everything is in working order, is that a decent price?

Thats pretty reasonable. Those subs (been pricing the 12" INfinity's for a bit now, are usually 70-90 each. I'd jump on it. They pioneer amp is alright, not THE BEST or nothing, but that was probably 150.00 new, and the box.. well, depends.

I think you can talk him down a bit, the amp is likely a GM5000T. Which was pioneers big amp last year. I used to sell them brand new for around $150. I think cost on them was around $130ish or so.
Also I belive you have your subs confused. 1220W is actually the model #, not the wattage. Are they silver with a black dust cap that says "infinity" in the middle? Those subs are the older Reference series subs. They sold for around $70-80 in their day. So given that this stuff is used. I'd try to talk him down.

Yeah, the infinty 1220's are (I think) 330watts RMS with 1200 max handling. The infinity 1020 are the 10" eoo watt RMS 1000 watts max. They are a sivler./ivory color and say infintiy in white across the cone. Depending on the year made (lets say, mid last year or older, they will have a black dust cone. The only diffrence is larger magnets and better material used to stop the infinity "rattles" in the speakers. Good subs, though. I'd see if you can talk him to 200.00
