Once the idle shoot up, i can't get it to go back down. I've tried resetting the computer. I just don't think it's the best idea to be driving around a few day with such a high idle.

The pipe works just fine for a short drive. It's something after that screwing it up.

I'm thinking that the IAC is dirty/faulty which is exaserbated by heat. Try cleaning as I said, whil ethe car is runnig so it sucks the stuff through.

By what you have posted it sounds like a leak in the intake pipe or at the end of the IAC tube that connects to it.

Have you tried the starter fluid method for finding leaks?

Also if you want the TH fix to work the restriction has the be at the manifold end. There is too much air in the tube for a restriction at the intake side to work properly.

That was my initial thought as well. But wouldn't it have screwed up my idle from the first second i started it up with the new intake?

I have not tried this. What exactly do you do?

The restriction is at the inlet on the intake pipe. Should i drill it out? Becuase like i said when the idle was high as hell, i parked my car and disconnected the iac tube and it wen't down. Maybe it has something to do with the engine giving off so much heat and too small of a hole to go through?
The primary reason i used the copper cap was to get rid of the moose. Now that the weather is better i'm not to concerned about it.

Drill it out a bit so it still stays in, but it's opened up, you know? Try that and see if it helps.

PS when I installed my old one the grommet for the IAT fit fine with some force it'll pop through just fine.

I'll slowly start drilling the hole bigger and bigger, until it hopefully fixes the problem.

There was no way in hell mine would fit through. Even when i took out the gromet it still didn't fit. Many different people tried with no success. So i ended up sanding down the ridge that goes around the IAT until it could slide in. I used enough high temp RTV silocone to make a nice seal, on the inside and outside of the pipe. Also i applied silicone to the remaining 3 inlets to ensure no leaks. Thanks for all the help, i really hope drilling this bigger does the trick!
