This weekend I installed a aussie intake pipe, maf adapted and K&N (Ru3530) on my SVT. Everything ran great for about an hour. The idle was perfect at right around 750 RPM's. Then out of no where my idle shot up to between 1800- 3000 RPMs. I checked for all leaks and cracks in any lines, NOTHING. It's almost as this turbulence occurs when the engine is warm. Now here is something else i found odd. The tube that you put the copper cap into, i forget what it's called? Anyway when it was idling high i removed it from the intake pipe, so it was hooked up to nothing and the idle went down Anyway, it was functioning fine at one point now i have the accordian back on. Has anyone ever experienced this? Advice, opinions, expertise, thoughts, suggestions... lets hear em!

Like I told you, you cannot have the IAC pipe sucking air from outside the intake as it NEEDS to pull air from through the MAF.

Did you remove the TH fix copper cap like I told you, when you installed the intake?

The only other thing I can think off is that the built in restriction I hav for the IAC tube maybe too small. You could try drilling it out a bit and see if that helps.

I know it can't be sucking outside air, I just found it interesting to add.

Yes, I removed the copper cap.

If the restriction was too small, then wouldn't the idle initially right upon start be messed up?
After the the idle messed up the first time, I took it home and popped the hood. It sat there for maybe two hours of me toggling (engine also cooling ) trying to figure out what was wrong. Eventually i got the idle back down, dont know how? Drove around again, and once again after a little bit, back to turbulence.
I geuss, i'll try drilling it a little larger but to me that doesnt make sense. Becuase it did run perfect at one point with everything on.

Do you have a picture of Stazi's intake pipe? I have never heard of him making one before.

Sounds to me like the throttle cable might be binding up a bit. Check that sucker next time it acts up.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

Either that or the IAC is dirty and now the intake is causing it to be more obvious.

Try sprayijng throttle body cleaner into the big fat IAC hoes. Spray a bunch and see it is clears up the idle fluctuation.

I have... And that wouldn't explain why it does it with the intake pipe and not the accordian. becuase i have the stock intake on right now and it's fine.

That could make a little more sense. But the thing that has me stumped is the fact that it works at one point... but after some driving it acts up. Heat?

Just spray it in the tube that the copper cap goes in?

You reset the computer after doing all this, right? After resetting the computer, my idle has done strange things for a couple days (staying around 1500-2000 for 10 secs after disengaging the clutch). After a few days, everything was back to normal for me.

I just installed a 65mm T/B Saturday, and after resetting the battery, the car would idle at ~1250 for maybe 10 seconds until I'd press the clutch pedal in, and it'd come back to ~750. It'd also stumble a little bit when coming to a stop. Give it a few days and the PCM should adjust.
