A crack has appeared in my oil pan right around the drainage hole (1997 Contour, MTX, 2.5 V6)

Replacing seems quite straight forward as per the above instructions...however while enquiring about parts and cost at a Ford dealer, I was told that I "HAVE" to change the dipstick and dipstick tube because of revisions to the oil pan. I called another Ford dealer and was told the opposite. I said: "Another dealer said I have to change..." to which he responded: "Yeah, that's what Ford will tell you" (Both times by FORD parts dept in Montreal, Canada).

I would really appreciate if anyone can shed some light on this. Additionally, how easy is it to change the dipstick tube because visually it doesn't look something all that easy to do. I've searched the forums, but found nothing.
