Wings????!!! My SVT came with a wing and the best thing about it is the cool 3rd brake light. The Contour has one of the best styled rear ends in the past 5 years (granted, the other designs didn't give it a run for the money). Why screw it up with ANY wing - stock or aftermarket? The tour has such classic, clean lines back there. I wish mine didn't have it, but the dealer wouldn't replace it with a normal decklid.
Keep em!

It looks like something you would buy at Pep Boys. I thought about doing a rear wing but I have grown fond of the slick back. It makes the car look a lot more classy.

i like this wings west wing from one perspective - the rear. from any other angle, it looks completely tacked on (IMHO). i like the look of touring-car wings on some cars, hatchback mondeo's included, but i think the reason it looks much better on the mondeo is because there's so much less trunk lid relative to the base of the back window. the contour trunk just looks too big and flat to have this wing on it...it just doesn't look like it belongs. again, that's MHO. i've got an idea of what i'd like to do wing-wise, but i don't know if i'd ever get around to it. we'll see...though with my roof rack on there, a wing of any flavor would look really out of place anyway.

Personally, I think it looks tacky and I'll tell you why. It's called a touring wing because it is styled after the touring cars that use wings to race. I higly doubt wings west is the supplier of the wings used on successful touring cars.
The racers add that for a reason, with their ultra-stiff racing suspensions on a racetrack with slicks, they see a handling inprovement. I admit to having no info to back this up, but I believe NO ONE in a street contour is going to have a setup that will see any gains from a wing, much less a knock-off like this. I know people will swear up and down that they have a better handling car, but without the suspension to go with it, any downforce will just get soaked up in the suspension.
Anyone with a wing like this on the road just looks like a poser that spent an unnecessary $200 bucks or whatever it runs. Keep the clean lines of the stock setup and put a down payment on an exhaust.
Not a flame, just my .02. If you like it, go for it, to each his/her own.

"not a flame"???
Rant on - All i did was post a new piece that is being made for our car (hell, new parts are few and far between) - if you don't want one and think it looks like crap whatever... I'm not getting one either, but if someone wants to install it on their car, more power to them (their not a poser or whatever...). Maxx has a similar looking wing, and his car looks nice - nothing i am going to get, but none the less his car is well done. So if you don't want it, don't get it. ...nuff said. -Rant off
Anyway, just my .02. If you like it, go for it - if not, just don't...

Yeah, if someone wants to install it cause they think it looks awesome then I think they should. I would not imagine that most people getting a wing, especially one like that are getting one to just simply get gains speed wise. It would be for the looks. I mean, each to their own.

I just cant say any spoiler on our tour will look good. I have that stupid factory spoiler, and would like to get rid of it (if I can somehow fill those holes).
