hey mike!!!
long time no talk.

i would suggest 3L.
talk to buckshot77, he preps 3ls.
and you could either turbo it(seems to be the popular route) or huff it.

either way, keep us informed and have fun

MIKE!!! How are ya??? Yeah, I guess you could count me in to the group that would like to see you with a 3.0L. I wonder what kind of 3.0L he can prep...I'm sure there are different ones out there. Good Luck!!!

I'm glad (and surprised) to hear you've kept the car!

3.0L Duratec is the only one I believe ... from Tauri and Escapes. Either way, they're far more plentiful and consequently cheaper to buy than the 2.5L, so it's a win-win no matter what.

Check out the 3L forum for more info ... and good luck!

What I meant by different is that i'm sure that the engine for the taurus and the Escape are different in that the escapes torque is probably higher lower in the RPM's....

.........exactly..the cams in the escape are setup to bring better mid-range torque...put the 3L in,its about the same cost that 2500 your looking at...plus more power(tq,hp if you use the svt cams)...and more reliable...as long as you use the 3L heads you shouldnt have to worry about spun bearigs again..they have better drains in the heads...keep, it..

what about using the 2.5L heads? What seems to be the best way to go about it. I havent heard of many using the 3L heads
