the 600x is a p3 600mhz, pc100mhz memory will work fine. Max total memory for that machine is 512mb IIRC.


1999 Silver Frost SVT #609 of 2760 Quaife, lightened SVT Flywheel, SPEC stage II clutch, removed resonator, k&n drop in - various other goodies too.

According to crucial it is 512 + 64.

2X memory slots with max of 256 megs each and 64 megs builtin.

That's kinda like my Gateway, except this one only has 1 slot with max of 128MB with 64 built in. 160MB/400MHz runs XP fairly slow.

If I had a laptop that ran as well as my desktop (Athlon 1.4GHz w/1GB ram), I'd be set.

Yep you guys are both right on. Neglected to mention that. 2 slots of 256mb each. Just going for one right now. I figured the cheap stuff was generic. Bu didn't think it would be a problem. Anybody have any recomendations than. I will check crucial out though. Thanks for the help so far.

you're going to pay more from crucial. Personally, I have had no problems with 3rd party memory.
