Mine doesn't have the dimmer switch click-on either. Most likely a 98 thing (as most of my interior parts are 98-year specific, not 98.5 as my VIN states). I agree with checking out the timer.

My cousin is having this problem too. The interior lights won't go out and when I open the door and push the door switch it clicks after 15 seconds but the lights stay on.
