What year is yours? I've never seen one without fold-downs.

I know it was optional on the 1999 SE. That was one of my non-negotiable options in the vehicle search.

My '98.5 Mystique GS does not have a fold down rear seat. It was standard on the LS and optional on the GS. I was thinking of trying to find a car in the junkyard with one and getting all the hardware along with the seat itself. That would probably work.

1 sweet se;
I have a 99 se without the folding rear seat also. You can get it from ford for asout $250 or so. Better than hacking up yours.

Modifying the seats to fold down, requires different hardware. There are two BIG Torx bolts holding our seats in place on each end of it. Once that is removed, simply lifting it up and snapping it off is required. If you want to do this mod, find a Wrecked Tour and take all the components apart, because there is a safety issue involved here. The fold downs have a reinforced metal strip, that prevents things from invading the passenger compartment, and they need different specail hinges back there.. Go find a wrecked car and take it all apart..

P.S. while you are back there, try a deck mounted port enclosed Sub.. Just a though ton that one, I'm working on one here along with finding a rear seat also.
