Have you tried disconnecting the harness on the alternator, and then checking to see if the voltage stays level?

I'd try that as it is only two bolts, a 13mm and a 10mm to disconnect it, rather than going through a bucnh of alternators ($$$$$$$$$$ ).

Do you have any aftermarket electronics installed i.e. subs, amps, stereo?
