I finally bought a inside trunk release bezel from a '96 Contour from the local salvage yard. I had no idea that both the hole and the bracket the bezel slides upon was already on my '00 SE. All I had to do is trim some of the carpet away and then install the bezel. It looks a lot better that just the release handle sticking up through the carpet. All I've got to say is that Ford really got cheap with later Contours. My factory floor mats are even cut to fit around the bezel. Definitely recommended!!
