I love the look also, but does it wear off easliy? I was thinking of doing the same with my door cups, but I know that I rub my fingers in the same place every time I pull on them, and don't want a spot of grey where aluminum should be.

Also, to all you guys with SVT's, or the gauges. Is your 'low fuel' light inside the fuel gauge, or on the lower 'idiot light' strip like it is in the non-SVT's?

What did you use to polish it with... something delicate enough not to rip it back off?

I put 2 coats of color on, let it dry overnight, polished it lightly with regular compound, and sprayed a coat of clear over it. No rubbing off yet, but it never really gets touched. I don't know if I would try it on a high-use area.

I tried to do this to the knobs on the middle panel for A/C once. Don't do it in an area that gets touched a lot. It rubbed off and was awful. I jsut had to buy new ones, and they are not as good as the ones that came on my car. They are cheaper looking.
