AI-Net is the s-video looking cable coming out of the back of your alpine head unit

Im in about the same situation as you right now, and i want you to know theres another option than the $100 ipod interface adapter unit.

I know the unit makes it so the ipod is controlled with your head unit, and also charges your ipod at the same time...
But if youd rather not spend the $100, you can just get an adapter cord that uses the same ai-net plug, but just plugs into your ipod's headphone jack, and plays through your alpines auxilery input.

The main difference is...the second option doesnt charge your ipod, and you still control the ipod by hand, while it still plays it through your head unit/speakers. Because it uses the same ai-net, the quality should be the same.
In total the second option is probably about $25.

If you decided to do that, the alpine part name is KCA-121b (its called an Alpine ai-net to RCA) and from there you just get any rca to minijack, which plugs right into the ipod.

Sorry for writin so much, if you wanna hear more about it, since im in the same situation, feel free to im (svtcontourrc) or pm.
