Trying to figure out if I can do a swap myself. Might pick up an extra trans, build it up(inside and out) and then swap it.

Thanks!

Probably uses it to raise/lower/hold the engine up. You only have the one top passenger side mount connected when all is said and done (you have to remove the driver side as it bolts to the tranny).

I just used a jack and 2x4 under the oil pan to hold mine - the manual recommends "three bar engine support or equivalent" and I guess a cherry picker is equivalent I felt okay with my method as the manual recommends "Place a floor jack and a block of wood under the transaxle and raise the transaxle enough to release the tension on the three bar engine support, or equivalent. " so if that was okay I figured holding up the engine minus transaxle with a 2x4 under the oil pan would be fine.

-EDIT-

"Slowly lower the transaxle until it reaches the limits of the front engine mount movement. "

This sounds straghtforward enough, but when you start lowering the engine with the one mount still connected it's pretty freaky to watch the rubber stretching like it did, but it holds up fine.
