anyone elses exhaust set off car alarms? what kind of setup are you running? reason i ask, is i was cruising through a parking garage today, and set off about 8 car alarms on my way out. wasn't even revved high, like 1.5k rpms, and I never thought my cars exhaust would be setting off car alarms.

You problably have a straight pipe with no cat and res. My parking garage in my apartment make their cars CHIRPs but not make it go off when I only have the Brullen exhaust. It would be annoying and pissing other drivers vehicles when you noticed your car doing this. Have you had your car keyed yet???  -dan

My car isnt that loud but there is the odd time which it sets off a car alarm. I love it when i rev my car and it sets off alarms or makes them chirp. But my car only really does it to people whose alarms are set too sensitive.

I've been able to set off alarms with my stereo  but not my exhaust yet, still too quiet. ~Alex

I believe it set mine off 3 times at the Novi meet! But the tire test didn't so its a good alarm for sure. The only time I set off an alarm was Stazi's svt when it was in his garage, I had the pipes dropped...so it was just manifolds...sounded like a damn harley.

on my last csvt i had a magnaflo res with small flowmasters(unknown model) out back and i could set off the alarm on my buddies tundra at will. his alarm was pretty sensitive though.

Optimized Y/Magnaflow res and mufflers on stock pipes makes random cars chirp, surprises the crap out of me how sensitive people have their alarms sometimes...
