If i have below a half tank of gas, almost to a quarter tank, and i punch the gas, at a round 4,000 and up, my car will act like its not getting any gas. if i fill it up i have full power all threw the rpm's. it has done this for quite sometime now. i thought it might be do to how the front of the car lifts up while accellerating? its a 2000 contour svt, 93,000 miles, kkm intake and borla exhaust, no other mods.
any suggestions?

Search up on fuel sock cleaning or removal.

pump has two socks.. the lower one (used when the upper one is out of the gas because you are at 1/4 tank) becomes clogged with junk from your tank..

removing it, or cleaning it will clear this up, but requires getting TO the fuel pump.

Go here and read this:

Find very last photo. Take circular filter disc out and throw it away. Throw it as far as you can. It is too fine and too small and you don't need it because there is a standard sock filter inside the pump module anyway.

They all plug eventually and this will almost always solve the problem you have described on your returnless system.

While you have the pump out, make sure that there is no obvious fuel contamination (there probably won't be). It also helps to have a replacement "O" ring gasket since the old one often swells when removed and sometimes cannot be reused.
