I would think that the new Mach 1 will only be at the SVT stores, but the Glenwood dealership isn't an SVT store, so I don't think that is the same car. I could be mistaken though.

Well, this general sales manager also happens to be my girlfriend's dad, so I don't think he was doing that.
Girlfriend's dad or not, he is hugely mistaken.

1) There is no 2002 Cobra, so there are no "leftover" engines. Cobra's were built in 2001 and the new 2003 which is not yet on sale. There are no 2002 Cobra's Built.

2) The Mach 1 is in fact a GT. As previous people pointed out, the motor is infact a 4.6L DOHC. However, it is not a Cobra motor. The cams and heads are infact different from the 2001 Cobra as is the the functional "shaker" hood scoop. In addition, the Mach 1 retains the Bullitt GT suspension package, and numerous interior/exterior trim changes.

3) The Mach's will be available through any Ford dealer, same as the 01 Bullitt GT was....this is because it is not an SVT vehicle.

4) Being a salesmen, excuse me...Sales Manager  , doesn't mean he know's everything about Ford's product plans. A few of us on here actually work for Team Mustang (I know of at least two of us) and get disgusted with some of the drivel passed off as fact.

Very few of life's problems can not be solved with the reasonable application of more horsepower!
