Actually, a great example of Gun Control gone completely amok would be in Australia and England. Both countries have total bans on ALL firearms....even the Bobbies in England NEVER carry a firearm. That being said, they are running into many more armed confronatations in both countries as the crooks know they are going to have the upper hand in a confrontation. Australia (from what I've read) has citizens who I guess would be called Militia here in the States. They are refusing to turn in their firearms, with the contention that they've lived their whole life out away from just about everything, so who is some idiot from the city to tell them they can't own a firearm to protect themselves and gather food. BTW, the country with the MOST police shootings?? South Africa. It also has the highest car theft/carjacking rate in the World! The Police there have the authority to shoot at carjacked/stolen cars. You can also order cars there with flamethrowers built into the rocker panels to defend yourself against would-be carjackers...and it's totally legal
