that's crazy no one better pull that b/s at my pharmacy. although I am able to order 3 months' worth at a time through my health insurance, at a discount, so that'll most likely be my alternative if anyone pulls any crap.

I guess I always thought a pharmacist's job was to help someone at the recommendation of a doctor (read: fill prescription). I go to church to get advice about morals and ethics, I go to the pharmacy to get medicine. Seperation of church and medical care, anyone?

If the pharmacy is privately owned, they have the right to stock whatever products they wish. Otherwise, if the pharmacist is working in the pharmacy as an employee, he/she has to abide by the policies of their employer.
I also noted a few inacuracies in the story. Not the least of which is the statement that the pharmacist prescribes medication. WRONG! They merely dispense, they do NOT prescribe. Only the doctor can prescribe controlled drugs.
Those inacuracies lead me to suspect that maybe this story is being sensationalized, or possibly may have been fabricated.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

These stories are far from new, so it's definitely not fabricated (although this particular one could be). These stories have been hitting the press for at least a couple years in pretty large numbers. Some pharmacists have been fired, but most have only been chastised.

If I was a woman and some pharmacist started lecturing me instead of giving me my prescription, I'd probably cold-cock his arse.

She can refuse all she wants and they can terminate her. When she agreed to the job she agreed to full perscriptions as perscribed by doctors. If she can't do that she isnt doing her job and should be terminated.
