I yelled at some guy asking 300 for SVT heads no cams...there is a difference and although slight they are supposed to be better, but I wouldn't spend the $$ on them.

Without cams they're not worth any more than regular Duratec heads. Any benefit from the honed intake ports will be minimal, if any, over properly porting regular heads.

With cams is a different story...

I don't agree with this at all. Extrude hone improves the flow in the same way that the airflow needs to go. It is much more accurate than hand porting. A porting job has to be very good to be the equal to an extrude honed head, and probably by someone experienced or very lucky to get it right without experience. Dyno proven heads are worth significantly more.

Extrude honed heads are significantly improved over stock heads and are worth at least twice as much! The stock heads with a good porting job (I emphasized good) are worth about the same as SVT heads. SVT heads with good quality, extreme porting are worth significantly more than stock SVT heads too!

The SVT Cams are worth whatever the market will bear.

People don't seem to know what work goes into porting these heads, or the costs and benefits of extrude hone. Here is my take on the value of the various heads as of today:

I would say that stock heads in good shape, no cams, are worth $100-$125 a head.

SVT heads in good condition with valves are easily worth $200 a head.

SVT heads with a quality port, polish, and valve job probably $300 each.

SVT heads with a quality port and polish and 3L valves probably $400 each.

Figure that if you have dyno proven results showing that the mods to the heads have improvements then the heads are worth at least as much as listed above, maybe more depending on the buyer/seller.

* all of these prices are without SVT cams*

Here's the thing. You're assuming that there will eventualy be some SVT cams bolted on top of those heads. If you don't have the cams, the regular Duratec 2.5 cams just don't take advantage of the extra flow of the SVT heads. The regular cams will fall flat at around 6k rpm rather than continuing to make power up to/through red line.
