Maybe the sensor. But first I'd get a working ECT sensor. You say it shuts off because of it getting hot? How do you know it's not shutting off from something else if you don't know the ECT temp.

Well, that is a good question. Perhaps I should fix that temp sender first. When I turn on the AC the fans come on, so maybe the fans are working right and I'm just not used to them being off until it gets hot enough? The sad part is that it has been raining day after day here so I can't really get the car hot to figure this out.

Oh.. there was a code about "high cooling temps" when I pulled that sensor wire off...lol. Hey, is that the sensor that everyone is replacing with 180's?

The car has not shut off in a few days and I hope it does not return.

The temp sender sensor I'm sure I can find online. But what is that gasket everyone keeps talking about? Is that the metal that holds the cooling pipe down? If so what size and how much cooling fluid is going to poor on me while under the car?

I need to order that part and have the guage working again.

As for the fans they started up like normal today after my wife got it all good and hot. So I guess the fans are working. I'm just not used to them being off on cars.

The car has not cut off since the O2 sensor, I hope that was the problem. I cleaned every connection I could find.

Anyway, I'm off to search for that temp guage sender.

Where can I buy the gasket and the sender for cheap?

*Update* Burned a full tank off gas with no return P1131 codes after the new sensor was put in. *WOOT!*

It will take time to figure out the average city Miles. My tank only holds 11 or 12 gallons? I'm paying around 2.34$ per gallon with a total of 27 to 28$ per fillup. However, before with the old O2 and light code my average full tank of gas was around 250 ~ 255 miles before the fuel light. That number would change plus or minus with non city driving and AC on. This weeks gas miles was 270 miles before the light. So as you can see it's only an extra 20 miles per tank fixing this 02 Sensor problem. These numbers may go up or down with the next fillup.

20-miles x 13.5 = 270-Miles. For every 13.5 fillups I now gain one extra tank of gas. Or you could say I was loosing one tank of gas every 13.5 fillups due to a bad O2 Sensor.

Since I fillup 2x per week this comes out to 224$ a month in gas with 8 Fillups. So each month I was loosing around 160 extra gas miles.

270 x 8 = 2160Miles.
250 x 8 = 2000Miles.

Every 2 months I lost a full tank of gas. That comes to around 28$ for a full tank. So the final bill was an extra 14$ every month with the bad O2 sensor. The sensor cost me 59$ with no shipping charge. 14 goes into 59 rounded off to 4.21 months. In 4 months the new O2 pays for itself. Thus, in 4 to 5 months the new O2 sensor will start to give possitive money returns. Not only that but I probably saved the life of my catalytic converter.

I also cleaned all the wire connections under the hood and the car has not since shut off on me while driving. There are other issues that I'm looking into having fixed like my motor mounts, temp sender, VCT and crappy random idle with AC is on.

Oh and someone put a key mark on my door.
Where is the hell can I find touchup paint for this odd looking multi tint light blue?
