My part came in the mail last night. I drove the car around and have not seen the code return, yet. I'll give this a few more days and if it does not return it's then fixed.

Also another problem has come into focus. The overheat problem of the engine shutting off seems to match only the daytime when it is hot. Because my temp sender does not work to the guage I don't see anything running into the red..lol. And while I put the O2 sensor in the fans never came on. Before in the past everytime I turned the car on the high speed fans would kick on for a minute then run at low. It seem like now I'm not hearing the lows or the high fans at all? I tried pushing on all the wires checking for a short, but now I'm just lost on what needs to be checked out next?

Replace the sender for your temp gauge (I believe it's one on bottom of thermostat housing). Also, disconnect the connector on top while the car is running and the fans should kick on fairly soon afterwards. If they don't, then it's a probably a problem with the fans or their relays. If they do, then maybe replace the sensor on top of the thermostat housing. Get a working temp gauge soon, it's vital with these cars or any car for that matter.

No sign of the 1131 after hours of driving!

As for the fans... I'm not sure what is going on here.

I swear the high would kick in at first then drop to low at startup.
I do here the fans kick in some times, but I'm just not sure if they are low or high? When my wife came home I did here the high fans running before she shut the car off. Dang, I just want to go out there and work on this problem before I bust something driving around in Florida heat.

Right now I'm stuck at work again because someone called in sick again with pickeye all week long. That's BS, my Doc told me only 24 hours was needed..sigh

I might just take the car in to have someone fix it because the guage don't work and the cooling fans are buggin me out and the car is shutting off sometimes on hot days.

Hey, where is that connector on top?

From that picture above it looks like the sensor was running in the Rich. What do you think would cause that?

Or maybe I'm wrong and that is just the black from 100K miles of street racing to Walmarts and Lowes.

The o2 sensor is always black after a lotta miles. The sensor is right on top of the thermostat housing. It's near the coil pack, with the coolant hose running into it.

Oh, that one...

Will it run any codes unplugged and how long should I remove it for?

No codes. Just start the engine. Disconnect it and the fans should kick on within 30 seconds. If they haven't kicked in within a minute or less, turn the car off and connect the sensor back. Then start checking relays for the fans. If fans do kick on. Check some other stuff to why the car is cutting off. My car cut off a couple times and I just replaced various small things, cleaned stuff, and checked things and it hasn't happened in probably a year.
