Since this engine only has one O2 for fuel metering, there is no simple way to tell if the O2 is bad or if there is another problem affecting the mixture.

Standard procedure for this code would mean cleaning the MAF, looking for vacuum leaks, and changing the O2.

There are two o2 sensors, the pic you posted is the one that goes bad (other one goes bad, but rarely).
I use www.oxygensensors.com for replacements.

Well.. I just cleaned the connectors from that O2 sensor.
At first I didn't see any codes and the idle was good. But then after driving around again the P1131 set off and I could feel the car change slightly.

What part number am I looking for?

Dang.. and I guess I need that odd looking sensor socket.

I'm reading that website you gave me. Those are some dam good prices!

1. What do I need here?

A. Sensor located in front manifold/exhaust pipe before catalyst

or....

B. Downstream sensor, after catalyst

2. OEM or Universal?

-----------------

The OEM looks like it has the ends already made.
The Universal one looks like I'd have splice wires.

Part Numbes:250-24016, 250-24400, 250-24001 and 250-24400.

I don't mind buying the tool for only 10$

The website you gave me does not say upstream.

"Sensor located in front manifold/exhaust pipe before catalyst"

Does "Sensor located in front manifold/exhaust pipe before catalyst" = Upstream?
