I don't think there's anything "unique" here in Savannah, as far as fast food is concerned.

We have the usual Sonic, McDonald's, BK, Wendy's and the like. I think there's also some Taco Bell, Chick-Fil-A, and a couple of Asian drivethrus. But there's an assload of McDonald's. In a city that I like to think is big but isn't terribly large, there's about 10-12 of them.

Taca Cabana!!! OH MY! EXCELLENT Mexican food, restaurant style, though as fast as fast food. (cheese enchilada, beef enchilada, sour cream enchilada, double rice, beans, homemade tortillas, and a large drink for 3.99... family sized fajitas, homemade tortillas (all tortillas are homemade here) rice, beans, onions, peppers, and toppings (cheese, tomatoes, etc) for 13.00 Fed 5 people with each having 3 to 4 fajitas..

It's WONDERFUL there..
Can I get someone else to back me up on this?

When I visited a military friend stationed in El Paso he took me to Taco Cabana; it is the best thing about that town (edit: besides Cattleman's Steakhouse but it's not technically in EP). 5+ years later and I still have the soda cups. I LOVE TACO CABANA!!

Sadly the nearest one is a day's drive and 4 states away in Oklahoma.

From an old Rueters news story:

*A Danville, Kentucky Dairy Queen employee accepted a $200 bill with the face of George W. Bush on Sunday. She took the $2.12 food order and gave back the $197 in change.
"Essentially, the story is that somebody at a drive-in ordered some food and passed a $200 novelty deal with George Bush on it," Danville Police Detective Bob Williamson said. "At a distance it looks like a real bill, it's got the green color," Williamson said when asked how the cashier possibly could have mistaken it for "real" currency.
This bill depicted Bush on one side and an oil well on the other. The White House lawn contained signs saying "U.S. deserves a tax cut," "No more scandals" and "We like broccoli."
Police are still looking for the customer who passed the phony bill. Because there is no actual $200 currency, the culprit could face a charge of theft by deception but not counterfeiting, Williamson said.*

Anybody have a copier and want some DQ???

See? I'm not crazy.. I am right!

Originating in San Antonio, a guy bought property across the street from a college to alleviate parking problems there, and rather than let it sit making no money, he opened a taco stand.. after night number one, theft became a problem. Solution? Stay open 24 hours..

and so it remains.. 24 hour service... and GREAT food.
Taco Cabana

DISCLAIMER: NOT employed by them.. just addicted..

Wendy's is terrible. All fast food is terrible. I'm reading "Fast Food Nation" right now, and let me tell you, that finger probably came from the meat processing plant. I will never eat fast food again.
