Mazda overproduced the hell out of that car. Some dealers are stuck with more MazdaSpeed Miatas than any other car on their lot. One of the dealers in my area had 16 of them, more than they had Mazda3s and RX-8s put together.
Man, I knew they were pretty heavily discounted, but not to that extent. I sat in one at the autoshow recently, and for whatever reason it seemed even smaller than the regular Miata, I had trouble comfortably fitting into it.
