I don't think that intelligent conversation includes calling peoples ideas dumb, stupid,
ignorant or anything simular for that matter. Ive seen too many posts where someone asked a question and got more insults than advice. This is the reason I have had so many negative responses lately. I am just tired of reading a bunch of insults. Why do you have to flame people that have different ideas than yours? I'd rather see people come up with new ideas and trends than see the same thing over and over.
Does my finacial standing bother you SVT Contour?(way too much time and $$$). Am I supposed to apologize because my parents have money? What does that have to do with anything? My responses have all been in defense of things that I enjoy. If you believe my posts to rude, I'm sorry but I dont like being called stupid, so I have some negative things to say back.

To answer the initial question, that started all of this.
Quote:
Does it matter which brand of spring I chop... to give my car a slammed look and am not as interested in the whole handling/performance aspec

If you really don't care about ride quality (ie. bouncy ride, hard on tires, etc.) then NO, it really does not matter... Just go ahead and cut the stock springs (save a couple bucks) to get the LOOK you want. No one here is saying this is the RIGHT way of lowering the car, but it has been done for years and it does get the look you're after... If you really wanted to spend the money and wanted to retain handling, a set of coil-overs would be the way to go.

Again, i would not recommend anyone to cut there springs (i enjoy a well handling vehicle), but you can do it for the look you want. I would not call anyone who did this stupid or ignorant solely based on riding around on cut springs - so long as they are not preaching improved handling characteristics or ride quality as a result...

But anyway, that's my $0.02

Cut YOUR stock springs or get a set of new/used ones. Paying for a set of Eibachs is IMHO, a waste of money. BUT, its yours to waste if you want to. Whether I agree with you, I don't, is unimportant. As long as you don't endanger others with a foul handling spay footed car that can't perform a basic freeway avoidance maneuver without getting sideways. Like it or not, you DO have some responsibility to others who share the road. FYI, I have Eibachs and Koni's and she handles quite well. My 2¢
