To answer the initial question, that started all of this.
Does it matter which brand of spring I chop... to give my car a slammed look and am not as interested in the whole handling/performance aspec
If you really don't care about ride quality (ie. bouncy ride, hard on tires, etc.) then NO, it really does not matter... Just go ahead and cut the stock springs (save a couple bucks) to get the LOOK you want. No one here is saying this is the RIGHT way of lowering the car, but it has been done for years and it does get the look you're after... If you really wanted to spend the money and wanted to retain handling, a set of coil-overs would be the way to go.
Again, i would not recommend anyone to cut there springs (i enjoy a well handling vehicle), but you can do it for the look you want. I would not call anyone who did this stupid or ignorant solely based on riding around on cut springs - so long as they are not preaching improved handling characteristics or ride quality as a result...
But anyway, that's my $0.02
