on my 96 contour, V-6 with power windows the drivers window would not go up.. about four months before this i could hear what sounded like a wire rubbing on the glass when the window would go up or down.. this sounded like the cable in the window regulator was frayed and being dragged into and out of the plastic on the window regulator.... i then had to remove the regulator and put a new one in... i could not get to the plastic parts that were holding the glass to the window regulator, so i had to push and pull to get the top of the metal of the window regulator up some and used a metal grinder to cut off the top and then pulled the glass up and out of the door..... put in new regulator and it worked fine...... now the glass will not go up again... i remember when taking the door panel off i saw what looked like a RElAY for the window(electric windows) on the left front door panel .... think this might have gone bad... any one have any experiences with the relay for the windows... this is the only glass that will not move... thanks....
