Ya buy the coil overs so your car can handle like a racecar. I mean Contours are so fast that without a good suspension you won't be able to control it. You'll also be able to drop it 3". Wow! You get to jack your car up and adjust your suspension each time you want to go higher and lower. Damn all I have to do is hit a switch and get 10" of lift. Im sure most of the guys saying how great there care looks with their 15" and 16" wheels, intake and exhaust have never been in a magazine or ever will be(or probably care to be). None of them will ever know the feeling of winning a trophy in front of hundreds, sometimes thousands of people. All of you keep talking about its a waste of money. Did I all of a sudden get a bunch of new accountants? If I can afford to waste my money why does it matter to you? Are you jealous that a 21 year old can blow money on something that he considers fun. Ya i've spent $1000 on repairs due to the HYDRAULICS not cut coils. I have to spend $500 to get the hydraulics to work perfectly. I dont think it's a big deal since I was going to do the mod anyways to make the car lower. Wasting money to me is to try to make a racecar out of a cheap sedan. All of you can keep dreaming about winning races in your poormans Benz but i'll stay in reality and out of the County Court(I dont have any speeding tickets or accidents that were my fault). Thank you all.

Reese. I never used afetermarket springs. I just used the stock ones cut in half. At the tme the only springs available were from Eibach for $300 and they are progressive rate. I know many people that have bought aftermarket springs though and were happy with the results. Another reason to cut aftermarket springs is so you can keep your stocks if you ever decide to sell your car.I would buy some non progressive rate springs or else it would be a waste of money. Antonio my car was in Orlies lowriding magazine Nov '98 issue. The magazine sucks but hey it was a photo op for me and my car. I had a lot of people ask me if my car was in a mag, so that was pretty cool.

AMEN, brother HWCM. I am simply amazed by the utter ignorance & stupidity displayed by certain people. They come into a forum like this to ask for advice, then completely ignore or dismiss it when given in good faith. Unfortunately I am coming to the conclusion that these forums eventually get taken over by teeny boppers who have waaaay too much time & $$$ on their hands. Any attempt at reasonable, intelligent conversations become overwhelmed by uninformed dunder heads. The exact same thing happened on the Sound Domain forum; e.g. teenage computer geeks posting ludicrous questions & inane topics. It got so nauseating I finally abandoned it in disgust. It would be a shame if the CEG forum deteriorated into such an abyss of knowledge.

Hey, I have an idea! If you really want to lower your car that bad, why don't you just remove ALL springs? That way, your fender liner can TOUCH the wheels! Very sporty!!! TRY IT!!!
