6 months after the production of the Saturn SKY, GM will introduce a Saturn SKY Redline, which will be powered by a turbocharged 253HP 2.0L Ecotec engine. Can you say Miata eater?

Yeah, they wish. Nice car, but I hear they just don't have that kind of perfect balance the Miatas do. Not to say ppl won't buy it... power can sell roadsters too.

I don't think Mazda needs to be worried.
At 250hp, it won't be priced against the Miata which is still one of the best roadsters in the bang for buck category.
It looks like GM is shaping the Sky to go against the Boxster class. Considering they axed the XLR, makes sense.

If I can get over the stigma of driving a Saturn, and if they keep the price in the range they initially talked about, I'd definitely have to give this some real consideration. This Mazdaspeed Miata is pretty appealing though..

Base SKY with 18" wheels, 5Spd Manual, AC, and CD player is schedule to be $18,995 including destination.
Add in the forced amentities that are going to come with the SS package, say $5-7K for clicking the box? Your still looking at a $25K car with 250HP. No where near what a Boxster costs and on par with what a loaded Miata costs.
