get a compustar or a clifford like my ag4. its intellistart does mtx remote start. when the car is remotely started, the car is completely armed still. if the alarm goes off, the car shuts down. if someone somehow gets in and tries mess with the car or likely with hit the brake to get ready to take off, the car will shut down if brake it hit.

yes u have to park, put the car in neutral, apply ebrake, take your foot off the brake, hit the button sequence on the fob, get out, close door, arm the alarm and the car shuts down. if the alarm goes off afterwards, the system wont respond to your r/s command. if somehow someone breaks in and somehow the alarm doesnt go off, and they put the car in gear then leave, it'll detect it in gear and wont respond to your r/s command. so its a failsafe mtx remote start. i dont like the idea of rigging the clutch or an atx r/s. only thing my clifford doesnt have is a 2way remote fob. the compustar does but my alarm guy said he prefers the clifford cuz its more security driven, though the compustar will work well with its similar mtx r/s and should also give adequate security protection too.

YEAH!! Cause that is SO MUCH less stressful than running a wire to ground one time, and putting a switch on that..

I, personally.. would rather just do this:
Park.. shut off car NORMALLY. flip switch. arm car.
Remote start command when ready and car starts as normal.
get in and flip switch back to enable cruise (or hell.. leave it off all the time, if you don't have/want cruise..)

If the alarm goes off it won't respond to your RS command? wow. I have NEVER thought of starting my car when the alarm was going off, so that will surely save me some time.

well, its actually a very quick process. typing it makes it sound long. i feel good knowing that some mechanic or valet ahole cant leave the car in gear then hit the jimmy-rigged r/s button and f up the car. at least the compustar or clifford or like products are designed to function properly and safely with an mtx to prevent damage due to unsafe r/s.

and i didnt mean to r/s the car while the alarm is actively going off. i'm saying if the alarm is tripped while your sleeping or at work, then it wont respond to the r/s command figuring that something is wrong. maybe u forgot to lock the car and someone opened the door and tripped the alarm and before leaving they put the car in gear then left. i wouldnt want the car to respond to my r/s command in this situation. yes this can be a stretch but weirder things have happened.
