i dont think you can put a remote start on mtx cars. Well, I guess you could if you remember to leave it in neutral everytime you park the car.

Good luck. You do realise that if just once you leave it in gear by accident and you hit the magic button..
the car will continue to crank and go until it is stopped by either a dead battery or a wall.
Which would obviously cause serious damage to not only your car but potientally property or even people.

I have a remote starter, it doesnt try to start the engine for longer than 2 seconds, it tries 3 times, if it doesnt start, it quits.
Mine is ATX though. I am sure MTX has similar to prevent ruining a starter

you can install it yourself pretty easily, IIRC. And you need to by-pass the clutch switch so it will work. Always leave it in neutral and with the e-brake on HARD. That way it won't go anywhere even if you do start it by accident in 1st. It'll just stall out.

I have the same setup on my Se, I could have picked it up somewhere cheaper but noone would install it, evenon an ATX. I decided to buy it through a shop and it cme with a lifetime warranty on parts and labor so it was well worth the cost, im on my 4th or 5th remote now in 2 years.

Geez, you people live in weird places that won't install these things on MTX's. There is a place in Mankato Mn that will install it...they even installed one on a weird auto-manual semi. You can get the kit and have it installed for betwen $200-$400 depending on what you want. ALl you need to do is leave it in nutral and have the ebrake on

You can do it but it requires taping your spare key to the steering column so that the PATS always sees the key there to allow the remote start to work. IMHO this is not worth the risk of allowing you car to now be hot-wired and stolen. Do you REALLY need remote start? In all seriousness, like others have said it's a recipe for disaster! If you leave it in gear one day and start it up you could send it down the driveway and into someones front door, if not through the wall of your garage.

When it is 50 below zero when I wake up in the morning during the winter it sure is nice to hop into a car that has been running for 1/2 hour to warm up and not have to go outside and freeze just to start it. And I live in the sicks on level ground so the thing isn't going to run away and no one is going to steal it.
