Hmm. sounds like your chip never actually was working if it's the same with it on there on not. Did you even clean off the silicon over the J-port connector contacts?

i just put my ADC chip on yesterday...the biggest pain was gettin the power steering reservoir off. First under the dash on the passenger side, undo the 10mm bolt holding the clear plastic clip onto the computer. Second go into your engine bay on the passenger side and if you are looking at the power steering reservoir there are two clips that hold onto the shock tower but there is a little clip in the middle that holds it in place. First you need to get a screw driver or something so you could pry the reservoir off, *Note* it will slide strait up, then there is a 10mm bolt right behind it holding the wiring harness, just unscrew the bold all the way and remove the harness. The computer should be real easy to remove now. After the computer is out get a 7/32 socket and remove the 6 bolts holding the computer together. You will see a port with a coating over it, thats where the chip is going to plug in. Before you plug the chip in you need to get fine sandpaper and lightly sand off the silicone so the chip and the port make a strong connection. *Note* there is a black plug in the computer that you will need to remove so the chip will fit, just use packaging tape over the hole where the chip is so stuff doesnt get in there. After the chip is in, re-install your computer in reverse order and everything should work.

For the record your ECU will NOT learn what's on the chip. The chip when installed overides the base program, when you remove it it reverts back to stock end of story. If you think otherwise, you're sadly mistaken. It simply is not PHYSICALLY possible for it to do that. The only way you can change the base setting for good is with a reflash. And I've seen only one dude do that. He's an ex-Ford programmer and has the "box" that allows him to access and rewrite the settings.

Stock SVT rev limit is ~6750 at least the one that makes it fall on its face when you hit it is IIRC...not 5000. Here's a thought...what RPM does your car idle at ? If it's up around 1200...check you tach and I would guess somebody has been messing with the gauge needles...perhaps a indiglo gauge install? If you don't know what you are doing with these the speedo & tach can be way off when installed and will require recalibrating.

Sorry I didn't realise you have the limited edition MAGIC SVT that defies the laws of physics and hence electronics. My bad.
