My ADC chip is going on in the next day or so. I took a quick look tonight and could not find the 7/32 bolt the instructions talk about that holds the PCM in place. Can anybody tell me where to be looking so i can get it out of there and get the chip on?

Every thing is metric for starters...

The PCM is held in by the through bolt in the harness and the little plastic U shaped clamp at it's base.

Should take about 5 minutes tops.

It's actually a 10mm nut on the bottom of the PCM that holds the bracket and PCM in place. If you can't see it - you are in trouble!

Also the bolt holding the harness into the top of the PCM is a 10mm too.

mine initialy i had to remove the pcm to scuff off that protective film on it, then i plugged the chip in and put it back in, now whenever i wanna remove it (for warantee work) i undo the nut at the bottom of the pcm, pop the chip out and replace the nut. easy as pie, takes about 2 minuites to take it out and put back in

Well 7/32 is actually 5.5mm. I think they say that because what are the odds of anyone owning a 5.5? Pretty slim. The 5.5mm are the bolts that hold the ECU together. Once the ECU is removed from the car you need to disassemble the case so you can clean the J3 port.

how would you have to pull the power steering res.? i didnt have to do that i used a long extension and it went right to the bolt...i didnt have to pull anything except 2 nuts off and i was done......and for some reason,,,i got my car back from carmax this morning from my finaly warantee work being done before it ran out,,,i pulled my chip prior cause i didnt want it to void my warantee, and the pcm saved all the info...its the same as if the chip was in there,,,its really weird,,even my buddy that did the chip for me said he hasnt ever heard of it doing that before
