I have a 2000 Ford Contour and whenever it rains, water is seeping into the right side of my trunk. I suspect that somehow rain water is seeping in but not sure exactly how it is getting.

Has anyone had any problems with leakage of this type? Would appreciate any thoughts on this issue.

Thanks

Check the inside of your trunk, behind the side carpetting.. the small rectangular-ish vents there can become undone, letting wheel splash enter the car. Or arund the rubber trim all around the trunk, between the lid and interior.

Also around the tail lights. (any water in the light housing?)

I would bet on the vent, though.

If you have a spoiler or wing check the mounts that could also be a problem.

Yep, just put some caulking around that vent and worry no more.

i had a problem like this about a year ago... i had water in the left side. it ended up that i had a few holes (and a little rust along where the seal attaches) in the seal that goes around the top. so i got some silicone and put a few layers around to seal it up.

Just wanted to tell you guys, this is an awesome way to find out about car problems. I have a trunk leak also. Do you have any advice on engine problems? Like the Fuel Pump or the Cam Shaft?

Try giving details about your car (mileage, make, model/year, engine size, trim level) so that we can know what pertains to you and what doesn't.

OR.. make a new thread about your concerns instead of in this one.. OR better yet... search up on any concerns you may have using our search feature at the top. almost EVERYTHING has been covered more times than I can count..
