I recontented the clock in my 2000 SE today, and noticed something that may be important.
According to the instructions posted under the how-to section concerning clock recontenting, the blue-black wire on the radio harness is for 12V accessory and the white-green wire is for illumination. On my car, the blue-black wire is for illumination and a yellow-green wire is for 12V accessory(I don't have a white-green wire). Like the instructions say, just be sure to double check wires with a voltmeter or test light! Maybe 2000s are wired different or Mexican-made Contours(like mine) have an alternate wiring harness. Anyway, the clock looks a lot better than the "Contour" nameplate! Now I have no excuse for not knowing what time it is, I have two clocks(dash and radio)!!
