Does anyone have some experience with decals and rear window wipers?

My wife has a 2000 Windstar and we are going to get decals put on three windows of the van to advertise our DayHome. The questions are,

1. Will the rear wiper screw up the decal?
2. Is there a fuse that will dissable just the rear wiper alone if the decal will get messed up.

If not I guess I could just remove the arm all together.

Thanks for your help,

Stephen

I can see over time it wearing off. But if you clean the area before applying the sticker, and make sure you stick it on good, I wouldn't see a problem with it. Also after you wash the area, and apply the stick... take a hairdryer to it. Makes it get rid of the moisture on the inside.

Good Luck!

the rear wiper will start to make the edges/corners come off. either dont use it or disconnect it.

ive done the vinyl thing quite a few times in my day, with truck clubs and people ive known who've owned vinyl shops.
here's a little advice to make it go on nice, easy and straight!
1. first clean the window with windex or whatever.
2. get a spray bottle and fill it with water and add a little dish soap to it.
3. spray the area where the sticker will go liberally.
4. apply the sticker
5. use a credit card to push out any air bubbles and excess water.
6. allow to dry over night. do NOT drive the car, they may fly off or move.
*it should dry perfectly with no air bubbles. if there are any the next day, slightly cut them with a razor.

the reason for the soapy water is that it allows you to slide the sticker around until you get it riiiight where you want it. it will have ZERO effect on it permanently.
nothin like trying to place a big vinyl sticker just right and accidently putting it on crooked then trying to peel it off so you can try it again.

Impossible in a Windstar. Our old '98 had a rear wiper that would activate if the front wipers were on and you put the car in reverse.

Ours went to 120k fine ... only real problem was the (recalled) front springs kept breaking, but that's probably because my dad loaded that thing past its payload with plywood, shingles, and other construction materials every few months ...
