every person ive known who's owned one had issues with the factory wheels breaking i know one chick who replaced her broken one with an oem, and then THAT one broke. not broke, as in, broke in half while driving down the street. but as in major cracks all the way through the wheel which would have resulted in that if not removed.

We had the factory alloy wheels (with hubcaps ), no problems with them. But both springs broke clean. The second time it happened was casual clothes day at my dad's work, so he showed up to the dealership wearing a plaid flannel shirt and jeans, with a van that was missing rear seats, had tons of wood splinters in the back carpet, and had this very problem before ... they must have thought he worked construction, because they gave him an F150 for the weekend But that's getting off topic.

If you keep the wiper clean at all times you should be okay. Ask the vinyl shop to use hi performance cast vinyl. its thinner than calendered and you will have less problems. Also, dont wet apply it on glass, its too much of a [censored] to work with. fold the sticker in half, mark your center with a pencil, then tape the sticker to the window, with 2 small pieces of tape. Center it and level it. Then apply a strip of tape in the center top to bottom. Peel back the backing off, up to the tape and cut it. Now slowly squeegy the decal down starting at the center and work your way the the edge. Squeegy top to bottom. Now take off the masking tape and do the same for the other side. remove the transfter tape, and you should be bubble free, centered and level!

Why not just get decals that you apply INSIDE the vehicle?
Perhaps have the one for the back window a "cling" decal, so you can remove it without damage to the defroster wires.

Thank you! You're going to have to custom create the decal anyway, right?

Too difficult to see if the windows are tinted ... which is common in 98+ Windstars. My dad tried that with a sticker.

Impossible in a Windstar. Our old '98 had a rear wiper that would activate if the front wipers were on and you put the car in reverse.
This I've got to try.
I think I will just disconnect the wiper arm if I can't find a fuse that will stop the use of the rear wiper alone. The only problem I see with that would be the rear window getting covered in dirt real quick. (Long winters + sand/gravel on roads = figgin' dirty vehicals)
