He runs Prodrive, and they constructed the DBR9.

Yup, could be him. Aston farmed out the "R" in DBR9 to Prodrive, which he owns.

Thx for the comments!

Edit: DOH! BMR beat me to it.

Sorry...you're prob more familiar with him than I. I only recently (past 2 weeks) came to understand who he really was with all his protestations to ACO, FIA, and IMSA on the Maser running at Sebring. I reckon he's still owner, but if not he surely still has vested interest...

That move the #4 (IIRC) Corvette drive did when his driver's side brake rotor exploded was sweet.

I watch about half of it, when the night racing was going, I started playing GT4, because you just can't see much other than headlights going round.

And glowing brake rotors...I love that.

Yet another great shot. Because Sebring is sooooo bumpy the cars must have a much softer suspension setting than at other tracks. That's one of the things that gives Euro teams such fits; they're used to racing on glass-smooth ashpalt. Speculation I've heard claims this is the reason the Maserati was so slow. Anyway, good shot of the DBR9 showing just how soft their setup is.

Good stuff. Watching it in real time, you don't get a good feel for the kind of load scenarios the chassis and running gear must manage -- it takes a still shot like the one you pointed out, and that Maser shot coming out of the chicane which shows the RR suspension just about fully compressed.

I really wanted to freeze some of the cars coming out of Sunset Bend (similar to those DC or Miami pics where they're fully airborne), but there wasn't a location from which to get a good perspective. Well, and my 300D can only fire at a max of 2.5 fps -- the 8.5 fps 1Ds MkII would make that kind of work easier (but then that creates an $8000 debt issue). Oh well...it's the thought that counts...
